Win $10,000 for your Web Series

Give us a great story and we’ll give you $10,000 to produce it! Web Entertainment Guide is launching a new contest for filmmakers who have demonstrated a passion and ability to produce quality web programming… and tell an original story! All you have to do is fill out the online entry form below no later than January 15, 2010 and include a link to your web series. Our jury of media pros and bloggers will then judge the entries and select 5 finalists. Then it’s up to the WEG users to decide which of the 5 finalists should win the prize. The winner will be announced between March 12 – 20, 2010.

Genres: All genres listed on WEG are eligible.

Rules and Eligibility:

  1. Web series must be an original concept. Adaptations of other copyrighted material will not be considered.
  2. Producers must complete online entry form no later than midnight 12AM PDT on January 15, 2010.
  3. Web series must have at least one episode posted online by the deadline date of January 15, 2010. No exceptions.
  4. The producer must be at least 18 years of age and be a legal resident of the United States.
  5. All content contained in the web series, including but not limited to music, images and graphics, must be originated by the producer, or be licensed by the producers for all new media distribution throughout the universe for all eternity amen.
  6. Web series receiving corporate sponsorship either directly or through shared revenue are not eligible. Producers may solicit funding from corporate sponsors after the award has been granted.
  7. If awarded the prize, the producer must acknowledge “Web Entertainment Guide” in the credits for the first season, and include a click ad on the web series’ website for Web Entertainment Guide for a minimum of 3 months.
  8. Funds will be distributed through a non-profit fiscal sponsor designated by WEG. Producer must provide receipts, invoices and other documentation of expenditures related to the production to the fiscal sponsor in order to receive any monies. The fiscal sponsor should also receive acknowledgement in the web series credits for the first season and on the website.

By entering this information, I certify that I am at least 18 years of age and am a legal resident of the United States. I understand that I will need to show proof of age and U.S. citizenship before being awarded the prize. Should I fail to provide this evidence within 1 month of notification of the prize, WEG has the right to award the prize to another entrant and will not be held responsible for any default.
